Customizing String Tension for Performance

I’ve been experimenting with different string tensions recently, particularly looking at how they impact accuracy and spin rates. It’s interesting to note that a lower tension can enhance ball pocketing and allow for deeper spin but at the cost of control. What has your experience been with tension adjustments? Any specific metrics you’ve tracked that correlate with your playing style?

I’ve found that experimenting with the tension around 24 kg gives me a nice balance of control and spin, but I’d watch out for how it affects your touch shots… Have you tried adjusting in small increments, like 0.5 kg, to see how it changes your feel? That can really help find the sweet spot.

It’s funny how finding the right tension feels like dating — too tight and it’s uncomfortable, too loose and it lacks spark! I’ve been working around 23 kg and feel a sweet spot for my volleys. @paulCrews54, how do you adjust for different court surfaces?
